Jameson Distillery and Croke Park

First stop of the day is Croke Park stadium, the home of Gaelic Games with an 82,300 capacity and ranked as the 4th largest stadium in Western Europe. Not bad for an amateur sport!

The Croke Park Experience comprises of a visit to the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) Museum and a full behind-the-scenes guided tour of Croke Park Stadium. The GAA Museum celebrates the history and heritage of Gaelic Games including the birth and development of the GAA. The Museum was opened in 1998 & has a vast collection of artifacts including trophies, medals and jerseys. In the specially designed interactive area, guests can test their football and hurling skills – not as easy as you may think!

In addition, for those who want some adrenaline, they can experience the Skyline Tour, which will bring them right to the very top of the stadium, offering a magnificent bird’s eye view over the city.

To take an Ericsson Skyline tour, you must: - Have a reasonable fitness level - Inform your guide of any medical conditions which may impact on your ability to participate in the tour.

 

You cannot take part in the Ericsson Skyline tour if you: - Are under the influence of drugs or alcohol - Are under 1.2 metres in height - Have undergone surgery in the past 6 months - Have any broken bones or are on crutches - Are over 24 weeks pregnant

 

Because Skyline operates at height and includes climbing, walking on a narrow walkway and exposure to all types of weather, it is important to note that the following may impact on your ability to participate: - Heart conditions / angina - Pregnancy* - Vertigo / dizziness / fear of heights / loss of balance - Respiratory conditions - Visual impairment - Depression - Epilepsy - Back, joint or limb injuries - Severe or uncontrolled asthma - Having suffered a seizure or fit in the past six months *Pregnant participants less than 24 weeks must seek medical advice in advance of their visit. Those who are over 24 weeks pregnant are not permitted to take part in a Skyline tour. The health and safety of our visitors is of gravest concern. The following are not permitted on the skyline:

- Climbing or standing on any part of the skyline

- Food or any drinks bottles or cans

- Smoking in any area

- Bags (Bigger than A4 size)

- Flags, banners, fireworks or laser pointers

- Filming of the Guide for use on commercial products

 

From the Home of GAA to the Home of Jameson Whiskey, guests will continue on to the Old Jameson Distillery. The Old Jameson Distillery in the heart of Dublin was originally built in 1780.  Now restored to its former glory, a guided tour of the Distillery is the most authentic way to experience the true spirit of Ireland.

A Whiskey Tasting Comparison will be included - a special tasting between the top brand of Irish whiskey, a leading brand of Bourbon and a leading brand of Scotch- where each guest will receive a personalized certificate congratulating them on becoming an Official Irish Whiskey taster! It also includes a complimentary drink in JJ’s Bar.

Guests will then enjoy a delicious 2 course lunch in a Dublin Pub before returning to the hotel.

Depart the Westbury at 8:30 am and return at 2:45 pm


Visit the Guinness Storehouse

No visit to Ireland is complete without a visit to The Home of the Black Stuff. Explore Ireland’s Number 1 Tourist Attraction, providing an unforgettable and a magical journey deep into the heart of the World famous Guinness Brand.

Located in the heart of the legendary St. James’s Gate Brewery in Dublin, this production site has been home to the Guinness Brewery since 1759, when Arthur Guinness signed a lease for 9,000 years.

At the Guinness Storehouse, guests will discover what goes into the making of each and every pint, and learn about the incredible brand history stretching over 250 years.

Ireland’s number one International Visitor Attraction unfolds its tale across seven floors shaped around a giant pint, which, if filled would contain 14.3 million pints of Guinness.

Here, guests can experience Guinness like nowhere else. As they make their way through the impressive storehouse, they will discover the age-old art of brewing that makes Guinness so distinctive.

They will also learn how to pour the perfect pint in the Guinness Academy. The highlight for many visitors is the Gravity Bar, symbolically the ‘Head of the Pint”, where visitors can enjoy unparalleled panoramic views of Dublin city – views that are all the better with a creamy pint in hand.

A two-course lunch in the Guinness Storehouse is included before returning to the hotel.

Windmill Lane Experienced

U2 is undoubtedly the world’s biggest Rock Group …and it all began in the Windmill Lane Studios. Experience the thrill of a real recording session, in studios that have hosted the world’s biggest acts, such as U2, Ed Sheeran, Nile Rogers, David Bowie and The Rolling Stones!

The group will be brought to these iconic studios for a five star experience that they will never forget. Recording a song in the same studios as so many rock stars before them really is a once in a lifetime experience!

On leaving the studios, the group will be brought into the heart of the city, Temple Bar for a Rock Star Lunch in a Dublin pub.

The group will spend the remainder of the afternoon at leisure in the city centre and make their own way back to the hotel.

Don’t forget to bring a jacket and flat comfortable shoes- maybe bring a raincoat too….. just in case!!
